Binita Jirel, one of the winners Solo Woman Travel Challenge 2017 is on her journey from East to West Nepal on a Bicycle. She’s never failed to amaze us with her evergreen spirit and her hunger for adventure is a story worth telling. And now that she is adding more pages to her exciting book, we wish her all the luck. We couldn’t have been more proud of her

Here’s a note from her:
“Born and raised in closed Indigenous community, I grew up with certain prejudices about people for other ethnicities and regions. Our childhoods were secluded and we didn’t see people from other ethnicities or communities and this led us to be wary of them, their ways of lives and how we see them interacting in the larger community.⠀
I wanted to travel to places and learn and unlearn about what I know. Terai has always been a mystery to me because I had heard so much about it, but never experienced it myself. Finally my desire and dream to understand terai is happening.⠀
I and my friend Khashing Rai is travelling across Nepal on our bicycle 🚴. Our major objective from this Journey is to understand terai, people and lives. We will ride each day around 50-60 KM and stop at villages, interact with locals, eat local food, observe life and RIDE. It might take around 15-20 days to complete the ride including many rest days at our favourite places.⠀
We hope to unlearn and learn simultaneously.”
Every alternate Saturday for the next three months, we will host a casual gathering of travellers who are passionate about adventure and travel in Nepal.
For each HangOut, we will focus on an area/activity and feature 2-3 travellers who will share their travel experiences (10 mins each). Besides casual interaction, these featured travellers will provide relevant information/contact to plan your itineraries. We will also provide giveaways of travel items/gears to lucky participants. We are just excited to support a growing community of travellers in Nepal :)

I declare Yogyakarta as my favorite place to be in Indonesia. I loved everything about this city— people, culture, streets, lights, food and most importantly the vibes!
